State Dissemination Programme – Bhopal
Having started last year in May 2021, the project was completed and closed this year in March. Post which the team organized a series of dissemination events at the district and state level. The core objective of the dissemination programme was to share the outcomes of the project and reflect on the broader learnings and team experiences during the project. ASHA workers also shared their experiences and feedback with all the stakeholders, giving deeper insights to how the training programme was conducted by the team. The team also discussed the public engagement campaign that was designed and implemented as a part of the project to build awareness and sensitize communities on mental health issues. The team also launched first of its kind Leadership Course in Community Mental Health (LCMH) for people working in the health system. The programme was executed in close collaboration with the block, district and state level health officials from National Health Mission – MP.
“I would like to congratulate ASHA wokers and Sangath for completing this crucial training programme on mental health. But, there is long way ahead of us. Now ASHA workers need to implement this on ground. COVID-19 has exacerbated the mental health crisis and we need to be ready for it. ASHAs need to deliver the treatment carefully and document the process comprehensively so that we can discuss and learn from our shortcomings, if any. ”
